Wanna go to Heaven?

I know what you're saying right now. "I'm a pretty good person. I think I will get into heaven." Well, both of those statements present a problem.

1. According to the Bible, you are definitely not a good person. Romans 3:10 says, "As it is written. There is none righteous, no, not one." Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." When you compare yourself to the people around you it is easy to think you are a good person. However, when you compare yourself to Jesus Christ you quickly realize how far you are from being "good". So, let's move on to the second problem with your statement.

2. You "think" you will get into Heaven? Wouldn't you rather know for sure? You can! In fact, Jesus was crucified on a cross so that we wouldn't have to "think" we're going to Heaven anymore. We can know for sure. All you have to do is put your faith in Jesus. According to 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 you must believe that Jesus died for your sins, that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day. Romans 10:9 tells us, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

So, what are you waiting on? Put your faith in Jesus today and you can change your previous statement to "I know I'm not a good person but thanks to Jesus' sacrifice, God counts me as righteous. I know I'm going to Heaven."
